Local residents help remember a special lady with the building of a butterfly garden. KSB will be dedicating the newly formed Butterfly garden at the James Cole Outdoor Education Center this month in memory of Karan Bowerman. Karan was an avid supporter and fan of KSB and contributions to her memorial were donated to KSB. The butterfly garden was a dream project of KSB and because of the Bowerman’s generous donation and Karan’s love of KSB, it became a reality. Two of Karan’s grandchildren, who attend and attended Cole, will be decorating special rocks to go on either side of the dedication stone. Not only will this be a memorial garden, but it has also recently been registered as a Pollinator SHARE space.
Keep Stockwell Beautiful volunteers are thankful for Lowe’s and Niagara’s water donation at their Annual Bulky Trash/Tire/EWASTE collection weekend. Over 344 tires , two box trucks of electronics and five roll-offs were collected … not bad for a town of 400!
Keep Stockwell Beautiful sponsored a fishing day with local High School Special Education Students. The kids enjoyed a picnic lunch and fishing at the James Cole Outdoor Education Center.
Keep Stockwell Beautiful Kids took time out of their busy schedule to help with a roadside cleanup on May 19. This is a group of children from James Cole Elementary who care about their community. Thanks Cole Cubs!
After attending the Keep America Beautiful National Conference and learning about “Branding our Community,” we decided to spruce up our entrance into town. Nathan and Seth Foley are volunteering their time and talent to Keep Stockwell Beautiful to make that possible. They are pictured here, working on our new entrance sign into town.
